Let me introduce you to one of my style icons (and friend) Alicia!

About: Alicia lives in Seattle and works as a Bilingual Customer Support Representative at Double Down Interactive. Click here to see her on the company’s careers page. We met a few years ago when we were co-workers at a previous internet start-up and I fell in love with her. She’s someone I admire in both personality and style. She’s friendly, outgoing, and honestly is THAT girl I love to hate because she can look amazing without an ounce of makeup.

What I Love About Her Style: She scouts for amazing finds at thrift stores and pulls them off like they are designer items. Macklemore could take a lesson from her. She isn’t too concerned with brands as long as she likes the item she’s buying. I once bought an almost identical shirt to one she had. I paid around $80. She paid $6. Uh-maz-ING.

Her Celebrity Doppelgangers (according to me):

Olivia Wilde and Miranda Kerr

Questions Answered By Alicia-

K: What are three words you would use to describe your style?

A: Vintage, Carefree, Evolving

K: What is your favorite color to wear?

A: If there’s a clothing option in grey-that’s the one I always buy.

K: Do you have any current obsessions when it comes to fashion/beauty? (Products or items that you love/want/need)

A: I have to have MAC Studio Fix in my purse at all times. I don’t wear concealer, foundation, etc. so this is it for my face. A good pair of cowboy boots and combat boots are a must as well.

K: You have $100 and can only spend it at one place. Where do you spend it?

A: I sound like a kid, but Forever 21, no question.

K: What are you favorite thrift or second-hand stores to shop at?

A: Hmmmm, my favorites are Value Village and Goodwill.

K: Do you have any advice for getting good finds at thrift or second-hand stores?

A: I usually go to the ones that are not in the city because people in the suburbs get rid of really great stuff and price it really inexpensively. The city thrift stores know what’s cool and the prices go up and good things are harder to find since they’ve been picked over.  Best place to buy cowboy boots is in the men’s section, they have a lot more selection and you can find smaller sizes among them. If you don’t want to be bothered to go on a hunt for the good finds though, Buffalo Exchange is a great new and used clothing store that has done all the hard searching for you. They have amazing clothing- it’s so hard not to spend all your money there. In a good way!

K: What are three random items found in your purse?

A: I have an obscene amount of lens cleaner wipes for my glasses, L’Occitane hand lotion, and a bottle of B Vitamins.

K: Any fun fact about you?

A: My fluency in French landed me my last and current job. Take that, all you French major naysayers! Do what you love!

K: Favorite pastime?

A: I love reading, quad roller-skating, and I enjoy advertisements with poor grammar :).

K: Favorite TV show?

A: I have so many! X-Files and I am currently watching The Following, House of Cards, and The Fall.
