CAMP NOU

On one of our days out in Barcelona, we decided to go on the tour of Camp Nou (translates to ‘New Field’), the official football stadium of FC Barcelona. It was very cool to see after hearing so much about it from my boyfriend. The stadium is HUGE. To give you an idea: Century Link Field (where the Seattle Seahawks play) has a maximum capacity of 65,000. Camp Nou can hold almost 100,000-AND they are renovating it so that they can hold even more. Right now it is the largest stadium in Europe. As it should be, as the team draws fans from around the world. Let me take you on a little photo tour:

The journey started with the museum that housed all of the cool memorabilia and trophies that FC Barcelona has collected throughout the years. It then took us to the press rooms, the tunnel, and through the actual stadium. We also got to take a look at the players’ locker room, which considering all of the money put into the stadium, was minimal. Honestly, the locker room at my local L.A. Fitness was nicer!

One of Lionel Messi’s trophies. He is consistently ranked as one of the best players in the world!

A view from one of the boxes. The writing on the seats translates to ‘More Than A Club’. It was amazing to see the stadium completely empty!

And out of it. With our game faces on.

Later on in the week, I was able to go to a game which was an experience I will never forget! It was the one where they presented the Joan Gamper Trophy and my boyfriend was fan-boying the entire night! excuse-my-blog-camp-nou-17

We then used the second part of our day to head to Park Güell. But more on that tomorrow!
